The Hypnosis Centre staff do not generally see children under 14 years of age. Using the Joane Goulding’s SleepTalk for Children Program our SleepTalk for Children Certified staff guided and supported parents to work with their children to achieve amazing results.

The program consists of 3 sessions. Each session includes assessment of the child via parent perception. analysis at each session tailors the program for the individual and fine tunes activities to be undertaken between sessions.

Children’s issues are no less real or important as adult situations. Children tend to highlight school issues like: completing homeork , liking school, improving results, low self-esteem, reading, writing, memory, peer pressure, friendship issues, and more. Parents frequently highlight learning improvement!
Children develop their critical factor at age 4, 5 or 6. Their subconscious mind is highly receptive to learning and new ideas. It is well know amongs Hypnotists that children are wonderful subjects and that they only need 2 or 3 sessions with improvements being frequently seen after the first session.
A parent is required to attend the office or the session but may not be required to actively take part in the session. Parental support is very important.
In the first session, just as with adults, the child identifies the problem and decides what kind of outcome they want. It is also a time of building rapport and trust between child and hypnotist. During this session the child is evaluated to determine that they are willing to work with the hypnotist and that they want to change.
Most children reach powerful levels of hypnosis far faster than adults because of there wonderful ability to imagine. We may use one or any of the following to help transform a child while in hypnosis: Stories, visualizations, imaginative games, role playing, magic, puppets, costumes and any other tool we feel we may need!
Children are sometimes given homework. This could involve keeping a diary, listening to a recording at bed time, drawing pictures or some other simple exercises. Hypnosis is about empowering the child to help him or her self, and it is important that the little one builds confidence and the belief that they did most of the work in solving the problem themselves.
Hypnosis, done right, poses neither risk whatsoever nor any adverse effects. Hypnosis is about learning things you didn’t know you knew and controlling things you didn’t think you could. It’s about using daydreams and imagination, thinking deeply and learning how to get your own mind to work for you instead of against you.

Please Note: Hypnosis is a very powerful method for change and has helped thousands of children to make all sorts of changes in their lives. But….Hypnosis is not mind control. For instance, not even the most excellent hypnotist can MAKE a child change behaviors if they really don’t want to or if the parents continue to make opposing non-supportive or non-encouraging suggestions in their day to day life. (If you find you are getting in the way of your child’s progress feel free to ask about sessions for yourself. No one is born a perfect parent and sometimes we all need a little extra help.)
We, also, can not accurately predict how many sessions your child will need. Most little ones, but not everyone, begin to experience the benefits from the very first session and most children are happily finished in 2-3 sessions.

We limit the number of hypnosis sessions for each issue to 6 sessions in most cases. If it takes more than 6 session’s hypnosis may not be right for your child. Ultimately, you and your child are responsible for the changes that occur as a result of your hypnosis sessions. Rest assured, however, that we will not attempt hypnosis on a child if we do not believe he/she is ready and willing.

It is because of these aforementioned reasons that we can not guarantee success, but actually, this is true in any situation where a professional is trying to help you. There is always a human factor. Doctors don’t guarantee that you will get well. Teachers do not guarantee you will learn. Lawyers do not guarantee you will win your case. Having said that, we think you will be pleased with the results of the sessions! And we look forward to seeing you and your child.

What we do guarantee is the very best hypnosis services, using the most current information and proper techniques for you and your child’s problem.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between ADD and ADHD?
A: ADHD is Attention Deficit Disorder with hyperactivity. Both can be difficult and cause distractibility, forgetfulness, low self esteem, disorganization, problems with school work and classroom behavior. ADD, however, is without hyperactivity. An ADD child can even be withdrawn, shy and quiet.

Q: My child still wets the bed. What can I do to help?
A: Your child is not alone! The FDA estimates 14% of 5-13 year olds wet the bed. The overwhelming majority eventually stops on their own. If bed wetting continues after age six, seek an evaluation from you’re your child’s doctor. If the child has no physical problem (90% of the time) hypnosis can bring happy relief to both child and parent.
